Gina Lissone, ANP-BC

Founder and CEO, Liss1 Urowear Solutions

Gina Lissone is a Board-Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner with nearly 30 years of clinical experience, including extensive work in nephrology and care of patients with complex urological needs.

NephroWear™ was not born in a boardroom. It was born from direct clinical observation and from personal experience, when her own husband required bilateral nephrostomy tubes. Watching him navigate daily life at home made the gap between clinical care and practical support impossible to ignore.

NephroWear™ is the solution she wished had existed. Built on clinical insight, designed for real daily life.

Clinical Insight

The Gap Between Discharge and Daily Life

Patients discharged with nephrostomy tubes typically receive instruction on tube care, flushing, and complication prevention. These conversations are essential. But one challenge that consistently emerges once patients return home is more practical: how to comfortably support the nephrostomy drainage bag during normal daily activity.

Healthcare delivery has shifted. Patients are spending less time in the hospital and are increasingly expected to manage their recovery independently. During hospitalization, managing the drainage bag is relatively straightforward: patients are resting, wearing hospital gowns, movement is limited. Once they return home, they resume activities like walking, sitting, and getting dressed. As the bag fills, its weight creates movement. Without adequate support, that movement places tension on the tubing.

Many patients begin improvising, adjusting clothing, experimenting with temporary solutions. The practical side of living with a nephrostomy device does not always receive the same level of attention as the clinical side.

NephroWear™ was designed specifically to close that gap.
