My name is Gina Lissone, and for nearly three decades I’ve worked as a nurse practitioner caring for patients with complex medical needs, including those living with nephrostomy catheters. But it wasn’t just my clinical background that shaped this journey — it was personal. When my own husband faced life with not one, but two nephrostomy catheters, I witnessed firsthand the limitations, frustrations, and risks that came with managing them day to day. After one of his catheters became dislodged and had to be reinserted, I knew there had to be a better way.

That moment later sparked the idea for NephroWear — a supportive undergarment thoughtfully designed for individuals living with nephrostomy catheters. While my clinical experience gave me the knowledge, it was caregiving that gave me purpose. NephroWear is the solution I wish we had. It’s not just a product — it’s a promise: that dignity, comfort, and practical support should be accessible to everyone navigating life with a catheter.
